2024 Ministry Gatherings

Plan to attend one of four Ministry Gatherings. These congregational meetings are a precursor to the annual meeting held on the third Sunday of October per the church constitution. All members should attend one. In 2024 we will gather Sunday, October 6 at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 8 at 10:00 a.m., ZOOM only at 7:00 p.m., and finally on Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 p.m. If planning to attend the ZOOM meeting, please sign up here.

Meetings will be held in the new Worship Center and conversations around 2025 budget, council nominations, strategic plan and landscaping plan will take place.

We'll begin ministry gatherings for the congregation in the first few weeks of October. These meetings are a time to reflect on last year's ministry, discuss updates, and share plans for 2025, including ministry priorities and the budget. You'll also be able to ask questions and give feedback before our annual meeting votes on October 20, 2024.

This year's budget, which includes new costs for the contemporary worship service, full staffing, and more support for fellowship, evangelism, and the Peel House, is a testament to the growth of our community. We're asking each giver to increase contributions by $30 monthly to support a 1.9% spending increase, a step that will significantly impact our ability to serve. I'll share more at the gatherings.

This year's theme is based on Jesus' call to pray for more workers for the harvest. We need more volunteers and financial support to fulfill our mission in Colorado Springs.

Gathering dates:

Sunday, October 6 at 1:00 p.m.

Tuesday, October 8 at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (Zoom)

Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 p.m.

We'll see you there!

Landscaping Master Plan

In the winter of 2021 several large trees were blown down on the church campus, including the large Blue Spruce that had become a yearly Christmas tree for the neighborhood. Rather than simply replant the trees, the congregation engaged with NES to develop a master landscaping plan. This plan allows us to pursue goals to make the campus not only beautiful but also a ministry tool of welcome, prayer and youth engagement. Now we can replant in more thoughtful ways towards an overall vision. This is a plan that will likely take a decade to accomplish and comes with a price tag of over $750,000.

Our new strategic plan emphasizes building community among different age groups, honoring our elders, teaching our children and youth how to worship God and being more intentional about our relationships with ministry partners.
