    Pastor Travis Norton was called to serve as Senior Pastor at First Lutheran in August, 2018. He is married to Victoria and they have four children.


    Pastor Travis is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah and was baptized at Good Shepherd Lutheran church in Sandy, Utah on All Saints day when he was 10 years old. He graduated from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in 2003. Pastor Travis served his first call at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Helena, Montana as the Associate Pastor. He then was called in 2007 to serve as Associate Pastor at Community in Christ Lutheran Church in Cornelius, North Carolina. In 2011 he was called to serve as Senior Pastor at Community in Christ and served in that role until coming to First.


    The Senior Pastor serves as head of staff and president of the congregation. Pastor Travis aims to continue the great ministry at First Lutheran and help her fulfill the mission to equip people to be fully devoted followers of Jesus and share the joy and salvation of the Christian faith.

  • Pastor Carrie A. Baylis

    Pastor Carrie has been serving at First Lutheran Church since she was ordained in August of 2010. She is married to Philip (Monk) and they have two daughters, Emmy and Callie.


    Pastor Carrie grew up in Superior, Wisconsin (Go Packers!) and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with degrees in International Studies and Geography. The summers during college were spent as a camp counselor at Luther Point Bible Camp in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, where a love of outdoor ministries was fostered and the firm belief that camp is transformation was developed. Upon graduation from college she moved to Alexandria, Virginia and worked in the civil helicopter industry and then in the Office of the Bishop for the Metro DC Synod of the ELCA. In 2004 Pastor Carrie began her studies at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg graduating in 2008 with a Masters of Divinity.


    In her time at First Lutheran Pastor Carrie has had the opportunity to teach confirmation and adult education classes, provide pastoral care and visitation, participate in synod activities including currently serving as dean of the Southeast Colorado Conference, walk with our faith formation team to lead first third of life ministries, and participate in worship which is the center of our life together.


    Pastor Carrie is passionate about serving others, creating caring community, providing hospitality as a means for growing together and celebrating the gifts we share in and through Christ. It is one of her greatest joys to gather people together in community fostering caring relationships that encourage people to live into their gifts from Christ and using them to reach others bringing God’s love and mercy to all for the sake of the gospel.

    In her down time you might find PC at the soccer field or a gymnastics meet, running on the trails, baking some treats for the staff, or shopping for her next great pair of shoes.
