Our Vacation Bible School is a unique experience that you won’t find in many other places. Of course, we teach Bible stories each night, but we do it through student-run plays at the conclusion of each night. We host our Vacation Bible School (VBS) in the evenings from 5-8 p.m. This allows us to start our evening together around a meal. Then we will head to a short opening worship that will introduce the theme for the day. Children are then broken into groups. Our preschoolers have a fun and special experience just for themselves. Our Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders join in your classic rotation of Bible story, crafts, games, and music. And our 3rd through 5th graders get the most unique experience. They get to choose their own adventure this week. They have optional electives including acting in the night’s play, painting the backdrop, cooking up yummy snacks for post-performance, or doing games out on the lawn. They can choose a new elective every night or stay in their elective the whole week! VBS is open to children pre-k (out of diapers) to 5th grade.
Parents, you aren’t left out! Our head pastor, Pastor Travis Norton, will be leading your own exploration of the week’s theme. This year our theme is "Tell Me A Story, Jesus" and at every age level we will be learning a new parable each night. At the end of the night, we come back together to see what the children have put together in a skit that summarizes the parable of the day. Then we eat yummy snacks and say goodbye until the next evening. Come grow in faith with your family this summer!
