Your Volunteer Story Matters

In a past Cheryl’s Corner, we shared the story of the Duncan family and the joy they have found through volunteering at First Lutheran. Their experience reflected something deeply meaningful about our congregation: serving is a pathway to connection, growth, and spiritual transformation.

Every week, volunteers serve in ways both visible and behind the scenes. They greet people at the doors, support children’s ministry, prepare meals, organize events, visit those in need, and participate in outreach throughout Colorado Springs. Each act of service strengthens our ministry and helps create a deeper sense of belonging within our church family.

The story goes beyond what our volunteers do. Serving also shapes their lives. Many volunteers discover new gifts, form lasting friendships, and experience God’s presence in unexpected ways. Others find healing, renewed purpose, or a clearer understanding of how God is calling them to serve. When we serve, we grow, and that growth enriches our entire community.
