Ministry Gatherings

Dear First Lutheran,

Thank you for being a member of First Lutheran Church. Members are the ones who determine the mission and ministry focus of our church. We come together in prayer to discern what God is calling us to do and be. We make decisions together, and then we support those decisions through our time, talents and treasure. We are church together.

Toward this end, we will hold four Ministry Gatherings this year, and I’d like you to attend at least one of them. Ministry Gatherings are a chance for me to share progress on ministry priorities and discern with you what we will focus on in the coming year. This year, we will hold Ministry Gatherings on Sunday, October 4 and 11, at 1 p.m., and Tuesday, October 6, at 10 a.m. We will also hold a Gathering on October 6 via Zoom at 7 p.m. Your participation, questions and presence are very important to me. Thank you for making this a priority.

I will be sharing with you the progress on our Inspire Faith building project. The Renovation Committee has been working hard with CRP Architects, Nunn Construction and Senger Design to finish the design, obtain permits and finalize the budget. We are looking to break ground in January and finish before Easter 2028. I’ll give you more details at our Gatherings.

I will also be sharing with you the proposed budget for 2027. We’ve made some changes with staff and have some new ministry initiatives to share with you. I’m excited to reveal the benevolence budget and some ideas we have for how to continue the good work that First Lutheran does in the community.

We are in an exciting chapter in the life of this congregation. First Lutheran has been worshiping and serving together since 1892. I think God has some really special things planned for our future. Come, and let’s listen together to hear what our next step in this ministry might be.
