Did You Know that First Lutheran has a Card Ministry Team?

Many people are surprised to learn just how active and heartfelt this ministry truly is. What began as a simple effort to reach out with kindness has grown into a vibrant team of 29 dedicated volunteers who pour love, creativity, and encouragement into every card they send. These cards go out for special birthdays—21, 50, 60, 70, 80, 85, and 90+—as well as milestone anniversaries such as 25, 30, 40, 50, and 60+ years. The team also celebrates life’s joyful moments like births, graduations, and weddings, while offering comfort through sympathy cards and get‑well wishes.

This ministry is more than paper and ink; it’s a way of reminding our members that they are seen, valued, and held in prayer. A handwritten card can brighten a difficult week or make a milestone feel even more special.
